The Galante Engineering Business Program Holds 7th Successful Event of the Year

On Wednesday March 30, 2016 the Galante Engineering Business Program hosted their seventh event since their start in fall of 2015. Held in the Alumni Center, 60+ students joined together for the “Bringing Your ‘A’ Game to a Business” Dinner. The 4-course meal was professionally run, and prepared students for proper etiquette and professionalism which will help them in their personal and professional careers. Not only did students have the opportunity to network and gain business acumen, but they could increase self-confidence as they move from their co-op to permanent real world jobs. The event was also attended by Senior Associate Dean of Academic Affairs Thomas Sheahan, and the Galante Program Director Kris Jaeger-Helton.

The Galante Business Program was created by Edward G. Galante who graduated from Northeastern in 1973 with a BS in civil engineering. His entire career was shaped by his co-op experience, as he was hired by his co-op employer and remained there for 34 years. His vision was to seamlessly merge business with engineering. Students can apply to the program who are in the BS/MS or will receive a BS and an MS in engineering and engineering management respectfully. The Galante Engineering Business certificate also empowers students to continue onto their MBA at Northeastern, where the 4 certificate courses can be applied to their MBA.

The Galante program is growing, with 20 Galante Engineering Business Fellows to date. Fellows will participate in 7-8 events per year and will also complete a leadership/project management component.
