Two of MIE Associate Professor Ashkan Vaziri's research papers were among the most cited articles since 2011 of the International Journal of Solids and Structures Articles. "Dynamic crushing and energy absorption of regular, irregular and functionally graded cellular structures" was co-authored by Amin Ajdari and Hamid Nayeb-Hashemi and "Hierarchical Honeycomb with tailorable properties" was co-authored by Amin Ajdari, Babak Haghpanah Jahromi, Jim Papadopoulos, Hamid Nayeb-Hashemi.
