About

Danika Ghersi (she, her, hers) is a Boston-based Assistant Director of Academic Advising supporting and advising graduate students in the Multidisciplinary Programs (MGEN) in the College of Engineering (COE). In addition to advising graduate students, Danika supervises a team of dedicated academic advisors supporting MGEN programs.

Danika was born and raised in the Ligurian Riviera in Italy, and although she moved to the United States more than a decade ago, she spent five of those years in Europe, split between Germany and Italy.

Danika is passionate about working with students, helping them to succeed and making their experience in higher education meaningful. Before joining the Graduate Student Services, she worked as an academic advisor at the Girard School of Business at Merrimack College during her fellowship for her Master of Education in Higher Education with a concentration in Student Affairs. Previously, she studied at the University of Helsinki as an exchange student, she worked in the admission office of an international school, and as an advisor for the University of Genoa where she earned her combined Bachelor and Master’s degree in Education and her Ph.D. in Evaluation of Educational Systems, Processes and Research.

“Fun fact” she moved eight times in ten years and so far, she has traveled to 17 countries and lived in four. She loves camping and spending time outdoors, whether it is at the beach, the countryside, or hiking in the mountains, the word is “outside”!
