About

Marrian joined Northeastern University in August 2015 after living abroad in Lebanon for eight years and working for two years at the Lebanese American University.  She has a Master of Education degree in Higher Education Administration from Northeastern University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Policy and Management, with a Business Studies minor, from Providence College. She is currently pursuing her Doctor of Education degree in Higher Education Administration. Her research focuses on international students and the need for more resources and support to assist them in their journey.  Her study aims to discover and develop a way to better international support students at a U.S. higher education institution, allowing them to succeed in their educational journey and accomplish their goals.

Marrian began her journey at Northeastern as a Student Affairs professional, where she worked as the Sanctions Compliance Officer at the Office of Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution (OSCCR).  She was promoted to Assistant Director of OSCCR in 2018, where she met with students daily to discuss alleged policy violations and the reasons behind their actions. Through her experience living abroad and her role in Student Conduct, Marrian developed a deep appreciation for working with international students and hearing about their journey, their challenges, and the skills they have gained from their experiences.  Marrian was also provided with the opportunity to teach two sections of Honors Discovery in Fall 2021, where she developed a deep appreciation for teaching.  Marrian enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband and three adorable children.
