Capstone Students Design Robotic Boat To Combat Invasive Plant
Engineering capstone students built an autonomous robotic boat equipped with a hyperspectral camera to map the invasive hydrilla plant and help scientists control its spread in Connecticut waters. The project is a collaboration among the ECE and MIE departments, the Robotics and Intelligent Vehicles Research Lab, and the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station.

Networking Fair Highlights Innovative PhD Research
Northeastern University’s PhD Network recently hosted an Innovation Research Fair in which PhD candidates presented their research to 14 companies, including Takeda, Amgen, and Merck, spanning what’s now the largest biotech hub in the country—Greater Boston.

Northeastern Team Places Third at Walt Disney Parks & Resorts Industrial Engineering Case Competition
Daunte Pean, E’25, Karim Kane, E’25, and Lucas Kirma, E’25, industrial engineering, won third place at Disney’s national Industrial Engineering Case Competition. As part of the case study competition, the team took on the role as outside consultants for the city of Dallas and gave their recommendation on what form of entertainment should be built.
