BioE PhD Student Receives 2024 AHA Predoctoral Fellowship

BioE PhD candidate Ana Vargas, who works in the labs of both MIE Associate Professor Rouzbeh Amini and BioE Associate Professor Chiara Bellini, was selected by the American Heart Association to receive a Predoctoral Fellowship for her project “Pregnancy Induced Mechanobiological Remodeling in Maternal Vasculature in Health and Disease.”

ChE PhD Student Receives 2024 AHA Predoctoral Fellowship

ChE PhD candidate Nicholas O’Hare, who works in the lab of ChE/BioE Associate Professor Eno Ebong and works as a CommLab Fellow, was selected by the American Heart Association to receive a Predoctoral Fellowship for his project “The Role of the Endothelial Glycocalyx in Alzheimer’s Disease Neurovascular Pathology.”

2024 Goldwater Scholarship Nominees

Maya De Los Santos, electrical and computer engineering, Kaitlyn Ramesh, bioengineering, and Madeline Szoo, chemical engineering and biochemistry, were nominated for the 2024 Barry Goldwater Scholarship—a highly competitive, merit-based award for outstanding students in mathematics, the natural sciences, and engineering who are interested in pursuing careers in research.

Ghosh Receives DARPA Young Faculty Award To Improve All-Acoustic RF Signal Processing

Siddhartha Ghosh, ECE assistant professor, has been awarded a $500,000 Young Faculty Award from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) to create single-platform microsystems that can incorporate active functionality with passive acoustic wave (AW) devices at radio frequencies.
