Northeastern Team Places Third at Walt Disney Parks & Resorts Industrial Engineering Case Competition
Daunte Pean, E’25, Karim Kane, E’25, and Lucas Kirma, E’25, industrial engineering, won third place at Disney’s national Industrial Engineering Case Competition. As part of the case study competition, the team took on the role as outside consultants for the city of Dallas and gave their recommendation on what form of entertainment should be built.

Chemical engineering students Ira Hysi, E’25, and Nethra Iyer, E’24, won 1st and 3rd place, respectively, showcasing their research at the national American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) Annual Meeting in the Undergraduate Poster Competition.

Creating Change With Environmental Engineering and Community Engagement
Ben Lanava, E’24, environmental engineering, has had a research assistant role, two co-ops, two Dialogues of Civilization, and an Engineers Without Borders trip to Uganda, leading to receiving the 2024 Compass Award, a Udall Undergraduate Scholarship Honorable Mention, and many award nominations such as the Rhodes Scholarship.

Churchill-Kanders Scholarship Nominee
Hyun Lee, E’23, environmental engineering and health sciences, was nominated for the Churchill-Kanders Scholarship, which was established in 2017 to address the growing divide between science and public policy by funding a Master’s in Public Policy at Cambridge University.

Computer Engineering PhD Student Wins ACM/IEEE CS George Michael Memorial HPC Fellowship
Rohan Basu Roy, PhD’24, computer engineering, won the prestigious ACM/IEEE CS George Michael Memorial HPC Fellowship for enhancing the productivity of computational scientists and environmental sustainability of high performance computing with novel methods and tools exploiting cloud computing and on-premise HPC resources.
