Joining at the Microscale

MIE Professor Teiichi Ando has been awarded a $137K NSF grant to join materials together at the microscale using nanoheater structures leading to new ways to build microscale devices. Dr. Ando received his PhD from Colorado School of Mines and his research interests include rapid solidification processing, non-equilibrium processing, powder metallurgy, processing-structure-property relations in materials and ultrasonic processing of materials.
