Niedre Awarded $1.3M Grant

Electrical and Computer Engineering and Bioengineering Assistant Professor Mark Niedre received a $1.3M R01 grant from the National Institute of Health to develop a new high-resolution fluorescence imaging system. His group, Biomedical Optics Research Laboratory, was established in 2008 and studies the application of optical engineering to biomedicine. By nature, the field is highly interdisciplinary and requires the integration of diverse backgrounds such as optical design, software and hardware engineering, image reconstruction, biology, chemistry, and medicine.
