Northeastern to co-lead workshop on Advanced Magnetic Materials and their Applications with India

Laura H Lewis, Cabot Professor and chair of Chemical Engineering, Vincent G. Harris, William Lincoln Smith Chair and director of the CM3IC, and research scientist Dr. C.N. Chinnasamy, will co-lead a joint Indo-US “Conference on New Directions and Novel Applications in Magnetism” at the Indian Institute of Technology-Bombay (IITB), March 1 – 4, 2009.

This workshop, supported by the Indo-US S&T Forum (IUSSTF), is aimed at providing an exposure to the latest developments in the field of Magnetic Materials, with a thrust on nano-materials and devices. This is meant for research scholars of various Indian Universities and other Institutions, pursuing their Doctoral work in the area of Magnetic Materials. There will be a number of tutorial sessions on various aspects related to material synthesis, characterization and applications of magnetic materials. Leading experts from India and USA will give lectures and tutorials.
