Telecommunication Networks Co-op at Nokia Provides Real-World Experience

Aman Kushwaha, MS’22, telecommunication networks, completed a co-op at Nokia as an Infrastructure and DevOps Intern setting up automation tools for data centers and optimizing pre-existing architecture to equip them with upcoming technologies. The MS in telecommunication networks covering computer systems networking and telecommunications is an area as Kushwaha says that “every conglomerate, every infrastructure, every organization stands tall with the help of communications and inter-networking (internet).”

Resilience Leads to Co-op at Tesla

When the co-op of Jared Covell, E’22, mechanical engineering, was canceled by the pandemic, he ended up working as a design engineer at a dream company for mechanical engineering, Tesla, with the support, mentoring and network of connections of his co-op coordinator. As a project lead on Tesla’s Drive Systems Structures team, Covell modeled components for a dynamometer assembly used to test a new electric motor. He led design reviews among the company’s structures, lubrication, and motor teams — then applied their feedback to optimize his models in the next iteration.

Elise O’Reilly is a fifth-year student at Northeastern and will graduate this May with a bachelor’s in industrial engineering and master’s in engineering management. When O’Reilly first started at Northeastern, she was a civil engineering major.
