Putting Her Software Engineering Skills To Work at DraftKings and Amazon

Qian Li, who is from China, joined the MS in information systems-bridge program in Spring 2021 on Northeastern’s Seattle campus. Her undergraduate education was in management and she wanted to transition into high-tech. In the MSIS-bridge program she had a co-op at DraftKings as a software engineer. She received a full-time position at Amazon as a software engineer.

Intro to Rocketry Program Lifts Off

The Intro to Rocketry – Airframe program successfully designed, built, tested, and launched five 6-8 foot L2 rockets in March, with some reaching heights as high as 3,600 feet. The launch was the culmination of two semesters of work by about 20 students plus five student mentors as part of Northeastern’s AerospaceNU club.

Dai and Huang-Saad Named AIMBE Fellows

BioE Associate Professors Guohao Dai and Aileen Huang-Saad were named American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE) Fellows. Election to the AIMBE College of Fellows is among the highest professional distinctions accorded to a medical and biological engineer, which is comprised of the top 2% of medical and biological engineers.

Pursuing Bioengineering PhD To Affect Patient Outcomes Through Research

Kevin Bardon, PhD’23, bioengineering, began his doctoral studies after a 20-year career of academic and industry research, with a goal to lead independent research. At Northeastern, he has jointly filed for a patent for a real-time immune biomarker detection system, is preparing to publish several papers on optimized photoacoustic contrast agents, and he presented his research at professional gatherings.
