Carrier Awarded NINDS Grant
ChE Assistant Professor Rebecca Carrier and Bouve professor Mansoor Amiji were awarded a $475K NINDS grant to examine a “nano-emulsion” system of delivery that will allow drugs to cross the blood-brain barrier.

Gouldstone Receives Teetor Award
MIE Professor Andrew Gouldstone has been selected as a 2010 SAE Ralph R. Teetor Educational Award recipient. This Society of Automobile Engineers award recognizes and honors younger educators who are preparing the future engineers to meet society's challenges.

Sensor Shirt is Real-World Solution
MIE students designed a shirt to monitor the movements of a pitcher. By studying the mechanics of the pitch, they can determine if a player’s technique starts to worsen which might result in an elbow injury.

MIE graduate student Muzaffer Yalgin Ozsecen is a top finalist for the 2010 CIMIT Prize for Primary Healthcare for his project “Synchronized Blood Pressure Measurement Device”. Winners will be announced in June.
