John Bleakney has been a co-op advisor within the College of Engineering since January 2017. He received his PMP 2 years ago and has approximately 10 years’ experience working in project management mostly in the financial services industry where he has approximately 20 years’ experience. John made the leap to full-time educator back in 2015 when he was the Associate Dean of General Studies at ITT Tech. In his current role as an Assistant Co-op Coordinator for the Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Co-op team, John advises students in their co-op search, partners with employers to help with their hiring needs, and teaches a career management course as well as project management. John enjoys sharing his project management knowledge with both his students and colleagues and finds the concepts and tools used helpful in his everyday activities. John has a Master’s degree in Economics from SUNY – Albany and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Political Science from Drew University. Besides the PMP, John also is a Certified Scrum Master and has the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certificate.
