Finding a Community of Peers with MSIS-Bridge in Silicon Valley
With a bachelor’s degree in linguistics, Yang Jiang joined the MSIS-Bridge program in Silicon Valley after working in Japan as a technology consultant and program manager at Accenture. She wanted to change her career to a software engineer to understand how the software is developed rather only implement the technology solutions.

Career Change from Paralegal to Data Analyst with MSIS-Bridge
Kaleigh Sieczkowski, a student of the MS in Information Systems-Bridge (MSIS-Bridge) program, made a career pivot when she realized her passion for solving problems using technology. She studied international relations at Michigan State University, subsequently working as a paralegal. She plans to become a business intelligence analyst after graduating.

Like many, Alexandra Silverman was first introduced to science in middle school in the form of a frog dissection. However, instead of the impending nausea many experience at the sight of internal organs, Silverman became enraptured by the beauty and intricacy of science.

Goldwater Scholar Works at the Intersection of Computers, Data, and Medicine
Siddharth Simon, E’24, computer engineering and computer science, is a pre-med student driven to use computer software and data engineering to make an impact in medicine, improving access to care as well as patient outcomes. This, along with his near-constant involvement in research, helped earn him a 2023 Barry Goldwater Scholarship.

Putting her Software Engineering Skills to Work at DraftKings and Amazon
Qian Li, who is from China, joined the MS in Information Systems-Bridge program in Spring 2021 on Northeastern’s Seattle campus. Her undergraduate education was in management and she wanted to transition into high-tech. In the MSIS-Bridge program she had a co-op at DraftKings as a software engineer. She received a full-time position at Amazon as a software engineer.

More than one-third of the Northeastern University women’s hockey team are working full-time on co-op, including three engineering students working at Bohler Engineering, Vanderwall Engineers, and Harbor House Collective.
