Northeastern Nominates Four COE Students for Prestigious Knight-Hennessy Scholarship
Benjamin Lanava, E’24, Leah Ragosta, E’24, Kritika Singh, E’20, and Alex Storrer, E’24, were nominated by Northeastern for the Knight-Hennessy Scholarship, which recognizes and supports young leaders, tuned to the challenges of the 21st-century, supporting their graduate educations and providing a community of support and engagement.
Students Nominated for Prestigious Marshall and Rhodes Scholarships
Benjamin Lanava, E’24, environmental engineering, and Siddharth Simon, E’24, computer engineering/computer science, were nominated by Northeastern for the Marshall Scholarship and Lanava also for the Rhodes Scholarship. Both prestigious awards support study in the UK for those distinguished by their academic accomplishments, records of leadership, and drive to serve.
Lanava Receives Udall Honorable Mention
Benjamin Lanava, E’24, environmental engineering, received a Udall Undergraduate Scholarship Honorable Mention.
Northeastern Co-op Wins Fall 2022 Scholarship from DN Tanks
Civil engineering student Amelia Negrete, E’24, was chosen as the winner of a Fall 2022 DN Tanks scholarship, which is awarded to co-ops or interns “who make unique contributions and exhibit DN Tanks’ Core Values.”
CEE Students Win 2021 NUCEAO Awards
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and alumni recognized three students for the 2021 NUCEAO Award: Missy Muilenburg, BS Environmental Engineering ‘21, Natasha Leipziger Mundis, BS/MS Civil Engineering ’21, and Ryan Kloiber, BS Civil Engineering ’21.
Wise Receives 2021 Compass Award
Environmental engineering student Louiza Wise, E’21, won a 2021 Compass Award which recognizes exemplary students from the senior class who, during their time on campus, have demonstrated a true dedication to a core set of values: leadership, volunteerism, academic integrity, and commitment to Northeastern.

Northeastern Engineers Without Borders wins 2020 Global Influence Award
The Engineers Without Borders student group was awarded the Global Influence Award at the 2020 Student Life Awards for their own to “promote global and/or cultural awareness through their educational programming and supports campus programming or experiential learning that places emphasis on global cultures, relations, or awareness.”
Ormsby Receives CIEC Best Presenter Award
CEE Assistant Co-op Coordinator Jessica Ormsby received the Best Presenter Award at the ASEE Conference for Industry and Education Collaboration (CIEC 2020) for her “Employee Mentorship Program” presentation at last year’s conference on “Moving In, Moving Through, Moving Out: Creating Successful Mentorship Programs for Cooperative Education Students.”
