Engineering is an exciting and evolving field. Engineers pioneer discoveries that shape society and can have a transformative impact on the world. As a student in the College of Engineering at Northeastern you will have the opportunity to personalize your path with five engineering departments, interdisciplinary majors, over 70 minors across seven colleges, and the PlusOne accelerated master’s program.
You will also have the opportunity for experiential learning—from laboratory exercises, senior design projects, professional association activities, and research with highly accomplished faculty, to cooperative education where you gain industry experience as part of the curriculum.
In and outside of the classroom you will be engaged. Our students participate in the College’s over 60 student organizations, national and global competitions, a vibrant entrepreneurship and business ecosystem, and a range of global experience options.

Support and resources for personalized pathways and success
Professional academic advisors in the College of Engineering Undergraduate Academic Advising Office are available to provide information on support and referral resources for all student issues and concerns.
Designed to provide new students with tools they need to succeed at Northeastern, the First Year Engineering program exposes students to all engineering majors and includes a common first year curriculum, special seminars, and social activities as well as one-on-one mentoring with advisors.
A wide variety of academic tutoring services are available to undergraduate engineering students taking courses across engineering departments. Free, drop-in tutoring is also available for first-year engineering students in physics, calculus, chemistry, and general engineering courses.
The university and college offer multiple honors programs for students to demonstrate their educational excellence and enhance their college experience.
With a commitment to diversity and inclusion, the college has several programs to welcome, support, and create opportunity for all talented students from all around the world and with a variety of backgrounds.
With a strong entrepreneurship ecosystem and innovative programs that combine engineering and business education, students are bringing their innovations to market and developing as leaders.
With a focus on developing multifaceted engineers, we push beyond interdisciplinary programs, adding also combined majors, and offering over 70 minors in engineering and from across seven colleges at the university. Accelerated master’s programs are also available.

2026 Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship Recipients
Tristan Bernard, E’27, mechanical engineering, and Ian Rocha, E’25, chemical engineering, are recipients of the Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship, which enables students of limited financial means to study or intern abroad, providing them with skills critical to our national security and economic prosperity.
2026 Barry Goldwater Scholarship
Maren Ritterbuck, E’27, bioengineering and biochemistry, received the Barry Goldwater Scholarship, one of the nation’s most prestigious, merit-based awards for undergraduate students who plan to pursue research careers in natural sciences, engineering, and mathematics.
ChE Student Receives 2026 Condit Award
Grace Autumn Jansen, E’28, chemical engineering, won the Sears B. Condit Award, which is awarded annually to one student from each of Northeastern’s undergraduate day colleges and is one of the highest honors that a junior or senior at Northeastern University can receive.
BioE Student Receives 2026 Hodgkinson Award
Andrew WIlliam Lynch, E’26, bioengineering and biochemistry, is the recipient of a Harold D. Hodgkinson Achievement Award for 2026, one of the highest honors a senior can receive.
